Sunday Roundup (Last Sunday)

Sunday 14 September

What will be the fallout from falling asleep in class?

110% on first quiz. I might try sleeping in class more often

Is it possible to find an even better chocolate deal?

Yes

Will I buy an iron from Walmart because the ones available here are evil?

Yes, and this one isn’t evil

Will I shrink all of my clothes in the washing and have to buy an entire wardrobe?

Ha! No.

As has become apparent the dates get away from me and I have failed on almost every occasion to post a Sunday roundup on the Sunday to which it relates to. As a result there may be events that I forget. This has the positive flow on effect of me not including boring stuff that obviously wasn’t important enough to remember in the first place.

The week was the standard uni-ing week. School work (Ha! right, work) followed by food and sleep. Culminating in a dental appointment where I was kindly informed that I should get my wisdom teeth out in the near future. So I’m booked in for the 26th of September. I’ll hopefully have a special blog which might include video of me post op, maybe still slightly sedated. Who know. Your sympathy for me is appreciated and I’ll hold on to it over the weekend where I intend on wallowing in my own self pity.

Tuesday saw one of the local lads, Jak, play hockey at the local ice rink. So a large bunch of us foreigners went along to support the team. We soon realised the team was terrible, so we turned our attention to cheering every time Jak (who guarding the net) made a save, which was very often in fairness. We also tried unsuccessfully to start a fight. On the plus side my record at the claw game machines is now 3 out of 4 in the US, which allowed me to acquire an amazing dinosaur toy.

Friday might have seen a Frat Party event. I was there, honest. I’m not just making this up and I can prove it. There was a live band playing decent-ish music for the massive crowd of maybe 150-200 people. Later there was another party, themed red blue and white so many people came wearing American Flags, many looked like they had spent some time swinging around a pole. The Frat put their flag out on the flag pole, sadly they had no idea how to make it not look like they didn’t know how to hoist a flag up. The end result was a flag twisted on itself flapping in lack of wind with pride!

After the Frat members swore at us to get off their property at 9pm (pricks, it wasn’t even a great lawn) we prepared to see the northern lights which were incredible!

Saturday saw college football return to Missoula. The Grizzlies hosted South Dakota. The Griz managed to close the game out to win 28-20. Students get to attend games for free, so many of the 26 odd thousand spectators were students in the standing section. Now I would have taken photos but my phone wouldn’t do it justice, so here are the official photos from the game. The stadium is beautiful and for quite a bit of the game the atmosphere was impressive. Unfortunately there are the pesky ad breaks which causes everyone to stand around doing nothing every few minutes, causing the atmosphere to fizzle out a bit. [EDIT] History was made that night. A new highest attendance record was made, crushing the old record by 10 people, in the process beating the official stadium capacity by exactly 1,100 people. It is a good thing us foreigners went along or else the record would not have been broken. Foreigners, breaking Montana sporting records (and laws) since ages ago.

Right, I’m out of ideas.

Question for next week

Can I be bothered trying to keep up with this questions for next week?
