I’m Going To Space

Well not me, hell no! I’m not stupid. My name though, well…

I’ve been busy being driven to the bottle by the government, watching TV with friends, preparing for a midterm and general procrastination to work on the videos. I hope to get one online on Sunday for my roundup. The good news is I have more ideas. Now my first round of midterms are over i can begin working on them.

Until Sunday

Sunday Roundup

Sunday 5 October

Wow! I actually begun writing this on the correct day. Albeit at 2350 on Sunday but I will claim that it is on time

Another fairly standard week. Well not really. Painkillers until until Wednesday was the norm. I had 2 exams which were taken under the influence of the strong painkillers. Never fare I got 89% on one and am still to get my second result. Now the only pain is when I try and eat a taco and bite the meat directly into one of my holes.

Anywho I’m off the drugs and onto booze. On Wednesday my sports marketing lecturer got the marketing guy from the town’s hockey team to come in. He gave us free tickets to the first game and was going to try to get us into the VIP box at no extra charge. I was looking forward to this, especially the VIP box. So Friday came around and another proposition came up. Every first Friday of the month (maybe, I don’t know) there is an event call ‘First Friday of the Month’ where the local art galleries open up, give out food and drink etc. Now I’m not much of an arts person so the choice was obvious.

Sunday Roundup (The Wisdom Teeth Chronicles Part 2)

Sunday 28 September

The week that was happened to be another usual week until Friday. As discussed here while still under the influence of the sedatives I had my wisdom teeth removed. Friday was discussed in fairly good detail. What happened next was not.

On Saturday I awoke with little pain, however I still decided to take my painkillers in case it got worse over the day. It was more the discomfort of not being able to open my jaw very far that annoyed me. I spent the half day I was awake YouTubing and other non-productive activities. I also found the best food to eat while unable to chew… Pringles! Being able to rudimentally chew using my tongue and the roof of my mouth allowed some sustenance into my system. Some fruit drinks also helped but they aren’t as cheap as Pringles so the cheapness won in the end. I’ve eaten so many that the roof of my mouth is as smooth as a baby’s bum, and it now hurts while eating Pringles. I reviewed my Friday, checking if I promised anything while under the influence of sedation and to see if I had forgotten important info. I came across this text which I sent a mere half hourish after my surgery was complete

Wisdom Teeth, Experience So Far…

So today I trundled down to the local oral surgeon to finally get my 4 wisdom teeth out. They weren’t causing pain but I hated them and was given the options:Get them out ASAP, get them out when they cause significant problems, wait until I get back to New Zealand hoping that they wouldn’t do the inevitable and cause trauma in exam week.

Obviously I went with the ASAP option. So at 0840 I arrived with Kate at the surgeons, filling out forms asking if I was prego, a drug addict etc. Just after 0900 they called me through to take a CT scan of my mouth so they can see how close the major nerve was to the roots. In the end they decided that mine weren’t close to the nerve which made feel fab!

On being taken to for my CT scan the lady complimented me on my fantastic hairstyle which gave me butterflies! After the scan I was shown to the surgery. After chatting about New Zealand and an old movie that was released in the 80’s, they starting injecting my arm full of drugs. They must have injected 3 or so different drugs before they went for sedative. The kind surgeon told me I “would feel extremely happy in a few seconds once the valium started circulating”. The last thing I remember was saying “ooohhh, my arm feels happy!” Then I was out for what might have felt like a few seconds.
